Building smoke testingBuilding Smoke Testing

Smoke generators are used in combination with fan pressurisation , to help identify air leakage paths, should the building fail the air leakage test.

A fan pressurisation unit blows the smoke out through any holes, gaps or cracks in the external building envelope, rendering the air paths visible. Smoke leaking from the building can be seen outside, and photographed to provide a record of external leakage paths.

Smoke tests are ideal for identifying generic areas of air leakage.

On the day of the air leakage test (should the building fail) we will try to help find the leaks by providing one full building smoke test free of charge.
